Granatum Plus is the only project that combines research and development, it´s an integration project with the colaboration of laboratories and food companies in Spain that have over 14 years of experience in the extraction of juice, concentrates and extracts from pomegranate grown in Spain.
Granatum Plus develops products from research developed at the university Miguel Hernandez (UMH). Agri-food technology department, group of quality and food safety led by professor Angel Carbonell and other prestigious scientists from spanish universities and applying the most developed european agri-food technology.
Granatum Plus has an agreement for the supply of shells of the variety Mollar Elche with farmer cooperative, in the province of Alicante with a volume of 40.000 tons per year accounts for 95% of the grain grown in the european union.
Granatum Plus currently markets the first and most extensive range of products made from shells of the variety Mollar Elche grown in Spain. The first product of our project, squeezed pomegranate juice market began in March 2007, this range consisting of juices, nectars, syrups and capsules, all with a high content of antioxidants, especially OMEGA 5 and punicalagins, provides consumers with the known health benefits.
Granatum Plus has the goal of offering consumers a quality product based unbeatable Mollar Elche pomegranate , one of the most prized varieties of the world for its extraordinary taste and organoleptic quality and one that have more antioxidant content, vitamins and minerals.
Pomegranate juice Granatum Plus is to market higher quality, certified by the department of food safety and quality of the university Miguel Hernandez de Elche (Alicante) Spain.
In comparative analysis of antioxidant content and sensory panels, Granatum Plus products have reached their maximun punctuation.
Since 1998 the spanish and european companies participating in the project Granatum Plus have been pioneers in the development of food products from pomegranates grown in Spain.
In 2010, Granatum Plus products were the only selected in the european union becouse of its quiality for a study funded by the Kansas statal university in the U.S. And with the colaboration of universities in America, Europe and Asia to analyze the functional properties of the pomegranate juice as well as consumers perception of these three continents. In studies to date, Granatum Plus, the brand of pomegranate juice that has more qualities demostrated by comparison with other world brands analyzed.
Pomegranate extracts to enrich our products studies by the University Miguel Hernandez, determined that 70% of the antioxidants in the pomegranate is found in the skin and not in the edible portion as was believed until recently. It is shown that the skin of the pomegranate has 10 times more antioxidant capacity that the edible part.
The method of extraction of juice from pomegranate is unique in the world because it can extract the maximum amount of antioxidants in the skin and keep the great taste of pomegranate MOLLAR ELCHE.
Although one of the objectives of Granatum Plus with pomegranate juice is to get the highest quality, the challenge of Granatum Plus is marketing the product with the highest amount of antioxidants as posible.
So enrich our products with pomegranate extracts that are not eaten fresh or extract of pomegranate
skin with a high content of punicalagin and pomegranate seed extract that are high in OMEGA 5 .
 We obtain the extracts from the shell of the pomegranate skin and from the seeds inside the arils once the juice is processed.

Miguel Hernandez University certifies with this analysis that each capsule Granatum Plus containes the same quantity in polyphenol and punicalagins that a 100 ml. glass of pomegranate juice.
This extract is also used to enrich all the products made from pomegranate.
