Granatum Plus, a distributor of dietary supplements with high polyphenol content, is launching lemon extract capsules with Wellemon, developed by Euromed. This extract, soluble in water and containing standardized eriocitrin, has been the subject of a study that has won the «Best Article Award 2023» granted by the scientific journal Antioxidants.
The study, titled «New Insights into the Metabolism of the Flavanones Eriocitrin and Hesperidin: A Comparative Human Pharmacokinetic Study,» investigated the bioavailability and metabolism of Euromed’s Wellemon lemon extract. Dr. Juan Carlos Espín, the study’s lead researcher, commented that he is happy with the recognition of his research findings as they shed light on the potential of eriocitrin, a compound found in citrus fruits, with health benefits.
OBTAINED FROM SPANISH LEMONS
Euromed’s Wellemon lemon extract is obtained from sustainably sourced whole Spanish lemons and processed using a patented extraction technology. This new lemon-based botanical ingredient has higher bioavailability compared to orange extract and is a rich source of eriocitrin, which possesses antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.

Citrus fruits, such as lemons, play an important role in this diet due to their flavanone content, including eriocitrin. Euromed has added lemon extract to its existing range of olive, pomegranate, spinach, and artichoke extracts, with the aim of offering botanical ingredients that support healthy aging.
The launch of Wellemon lemon extract by Granatum Plus will take place during July 2023, expanding the range of Mediterranean supplements already marketed, including Punicalagin Plus, Punicalagin+Hydroxytyrosol Plus, and Hydroxytyrosol Plus.
